Hurricane Melissa Relief Efforts

Hurricane Melissa has devastated Jamaica and other Caribbean nations, leaving communities in urgent need of assistance. Recovery will be a long process, focused on supporting affected communities while rebuilding critical infrastructure.

The Cayman Islands Government stands in solidarity with our Caribbean neighbours during this critical time. Hazard Management Cayman Islands (HMCI), in partnership with the Cayman Islands Red Cross and regional organisations, is coordinating relief efforts to support Jamaica.

On 30 October 2025, Premier Hon. André M. Ebanks led the first relief flight to Jamaica, delivering an initial shipment valued at nearly US $200,000, which included medical supplies, generators, meals ready to eat, tarpaulins, first aid kits, and mattresses. The Cayman Islands Government has pledged approximately US $1.2 million in essential supplies and goods to support Jamaica's recovery.

What the Cayman Islands Government is Doing

The Cayman Islands Government has mobilise a coordinated response following the pledge made to Jamaica by The Premier, Hon. Andre M. Ebanks:

  •       First relief flight
  •      Resumption of Cayman Airways flights
